What Is ShareFest?

ShareFest began as a dream in the hearts of a handful of pastors as they discussed how "the church" can be a blessing to our community. In 2004, these pastors organized a day of service for Christians from all over Valparaiso to share their faith through deeds and actions, and ShareFest Valpo was born. In 2005, the vision of ShareFest spread to include several churches from Portage. In 2006, a group of churches in Chesterton got involved, and last year we were joined by churches in Kouts--we've morphed into ShareFest Porter County! The excitement of joining hands to serve our communities sharing hope and love is spreading fast! This year, we are teaming up with NeighborLink Porter County.

Most of the projects that we will be completing will be pulled directly from the NeighborLink site.

How Can I Get Involved?

Donate goods for the needy. We will be accepting donations of liquid laundry detergent, diapers, toilet paper and food items for the local food pantries.
Drop these off at any partner church during the weeks before ShareFest. Specific churches will will coordinate collection of other goods in each community.

Serve
by registering for a work project in your community. You can do this here on the NeighborLink website, or fill out a Registration form at your local church. You may also serve others by praying for the community and for those involved in projects. Each ShareFest Village will maintain a Prayer Room, open to the public throughout the event for devotions and dedication.

Give Blood! Red Cross Blood Drives will be at the ShareFest Village locations:
Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso
Willowcreek Middle School in Portage
Chesterton First United Methodist Church
Kouts High School from 9am - 3pm on ShareFest - Oct.10th.
Please pre-register by emailing Gail Atkinson at AtkinsonGJ@usa.redcross.org or call her at 1-800-448-3543.

Please note: at this time, only Chesterton and Valparaiso are partnering with NeighborLink Porter County. If you wish to volunteer for Portage or Kouts, please contact the appropriate city director below or go to www.sharefestpc.org
